Charles Felton Wilson, Jr., 83, of Lynchburg, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 5, 2025. He was the son of the late Charles Felton Wilson and Charlotte Sophie Gohn Wilson.
He is survived by the love of his life, Beverley Anne (Babs), to whom he was married for 59 years. He is also survived by his son, Christopher Campbell Wilson (Amy), and daughter, Noelle Susan Bell, one grandchild, Dr. Emily Anne Wilson Helgeson (Caleb), as well as a sister, Charlotte E. DeFranco (Dave), and several nieces and nephews.
Charlie was born on July 29, 1942, in Byrn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He graduated in 1964 from West Chester State College and began his teaching career in New Jersey before retiring to Virginia in 1997. His trust in his Lord and Savior began in the spring of 1968, and he served for 30 years at Clinton Baptist Church in Clinton, NJ. Upon his retirement, Charlie made the decision to serve his new church home and his community at Rivermont Presbyterian Church for the time the Lord would afford him here on earth. He was a volunteer docent at Poplar Forest for over 20 years, served with Meals on Wheels, and for many years worked with Habitat for Humanity. His deep faith and love for the Lord guided every part of his life. Though he will be deeply missed by all who loved him, there is wonderful peace in knowing he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
