Clifton Wade

Clifton Wade (Plooky), 68, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Allen King Wade SR. and Fannie Cyrus Wade. Clifton was born on January 14, 1957, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He worked for Coleman Adams as a crane operator for many years.

Clifton was known for his infectious smile and big personality. He loved to sing and make others laugh and smile which came easy. He had a love for gardening in his younger years and enjoyed working outside in the yard. He could fix anything that broke, and he would make sure others knew it. His biggest passion was fishing and he talked frequently about all the times he caught a big one, although we all know he never did. Clifton loved life to the fullest and he sure left his mark on every person he met.

Clifton is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Cindy Wade; Children, Kerri Cash (Barry), Clifton Wade (Nikki), Blake Wade, and Jason Wade; his precious granddaughter, whom he adored, Sienna Wade. Siblings; Rodger Wade (Judy), Rena Mae Tomlin, Cathy Hall (David), Steve Wade, and Allen King Wade Jr. (Linda), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Clifton is preceded in death by his sister Linda Neighbors.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 28, 2025 between the hours of 3:00P.M. and 5:00P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg located at 220 Breezewood Drive Lynchburg, VA 24502
