Corinne Roberts Ware January 29, 1964 - October 8, 2026
On October 8th, after a short illness, Corinne Ware transitioned to the loving arms of her savior, Jesus Christ.
Corinne was born and raised in Virginia Beach by her late parents, William Evan & Marylou Randle Roberts. After attending Virginia Tech, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, Corinne moved to Lynchburg in 1987 to begin a 39-year career as a Registered Dietitian at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
In all things Corinne believed that her role was to share the love of God and to be a Christ-like example to others. She viewed her work as a ministry, taking great pleasure in helping patients navigate their sometimes-complex nutritional needs.
Corinne was a member of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She also for many years actively participated in a women’s Bible Study and Fellowship Group from which she derived a great deal of spiritual growth and strength. Corinne loved her church and her Bible Study “sisters”. Despite her illness, Corinne was confident in her faith knowing that our current physical body will be replaced with a perfect spiritual body impervious to the fallen world in which we now reside ( 1Corinthians 15).
Corinne shared 38 years together with her beloved husband, Massie G. Ware, Jr. In addition to a mutual love of Virginia Tech, they enjoyed travel, having visited over a dozen countries and also made numerous trips throughout the United States in recent years. Most importantly, they shared a strong Christian faith, assuring each other that the pain of separation is only temporary.
Together Corinne and Massie raised four wonderful children, Evan (Taylor), Elizabeth (C J), Emily (Andy) and Edward (Olivia). She was proud of each of their unique strengths and abilities. In particular, Corinne was so happy that all four children grew to share her lifelong love of cooking. During family gatherings, Corinne’s kitchen was most often the central hub of activity, together preparing a favorite family dish or playing games around the kitchen table.
Surviving Corinne on this earth in addition to her immediate family are her siblings, Anastasia (Stacy) Roberts Biel, Whitney Roberts Marble, Brian Randle Roberts (Nadine) and Mary Margaret Brimmage (Mike). She is also survived by her uncle and aunts, Jack & Bernita Roberts, Anne Joers & Sandra Roberts, her mother-in-law, Shirley M. Ware and sister-in-law Deborah Ware, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Centra Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center, Centra Lynchburg General Emergency Department and the VCU Medical Center for the exceptional care Corinne received during her illness.
A celebration of Corinne’s life will be held at 11AM on Saturday October 24th at Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church or to the Centra Foundation FBO the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
