Floyd Arthur Calloway Sr. entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on June 25, 1951 to the late Floyd Calloway and Lorraine B. Calloway. He was the youngest of three children and the only son.
Floyd joined Mt. Evergreen Baptist at an early age and was a lifelong member.
Floyd was educated in the Campbell County school system and graduated from Campbell County High School, class of 1969.
Upon graduation, Floyd entered the workforce at General Electric. After several years there, he moved on to BWX Technologies, where he eventually retired.
Floyed enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns and football, but most of all, FAMILY. Floyd was a known trendsetter. Many people picked up on his catchy phrases like, “Check Check, Holla Holla” and “Let’s Talk About Something Else.”
Floyd leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 49 years, Pamela R. Calloway; his children, Dana C. Veasley, LaKisha C. Scott (Aaron),Floyd A. Calloway Jr. (Nicolette); seven grandchildren, Atiba, Khari, Amina, Aadon, Emery, Vivianna, and Jullian, all of Lynchburg Va.; two sisters, Teresa Davis (Macon) of Evington, Va. and Kitty Madison of Lynchburg Va.; one sister-in-law, Tommizene Rice of Woodbridge, Va.; a special niece and nephew, Sherry Davis and Keith Madison, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and loved ones.
Floyd will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Mount Evergreen Baptist Church Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:00P.M. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5:30P.M.- 7:30P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg location.
