Gary Wayne Wright

Gary Wayne Wright, 58, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025.

Gary was born on Sunday, January 22, 1967, in Lynchburg, VA. He was the son of Betty Jean Tyree of Lynchburg and the late Douglas Wright.

Gary's memory will be carried on by his loving family, which includes his mother, Betty; sisters, DeRhonda Spruce and Linda Almond, along with her husband Emmett, all of Lynchburg. He is also survived by his nieces, Crystal Wiser (Drew), Amanda Miller (David), Wendy Almond (Tori), Valarie Goff (Savannah), Autumn Miller and nephews, Sammie Goff, Jr. (Traci) and Andrew Wright (Isley); fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; and his special friend, Wanda Branham.

In addition to his family, Gary is reunited with his brother, Kirk Wright, and his aunt, Pearl Lawhorne, who preceded him in death.

A visitation to honor Gary’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his contributions to the lives he touched will be forever celebrated.
