Jared Makail Merriman-Paige was born on April 13, 2006, as one of three, a blessing that made his entrance into the world extra special from the very beginning. Of his brothers, Jared was always the adventurous one. Full of life and never afraid to explore, he definitely knew how to keep Mama on her toes.

Jared gave his life to Christ in June 2019, he graduated from E. C. Glass High School in 2024 and later attended Central Virginia Community College, where he studied Business Management. He was employed at Kroger in Boonsboro, where his big heart quickly became a part of their community.

Jared truly enjoyed life and the people he shared it with. He loved spending time with his family and friends and could often be found doing some of the things he enjoyed most. He was a true computer gamer, loved fishing, and anyone who knew Jared knew about his love for the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether gaming, fishing, rooting his Eagles on, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Jared had a way of creating memories that will now be treasured forever.

On September 13, 2026, Jared departed this life, leaving behind a family who loved him beyond measure and countless memories that will forever keep his spirit close.

Jared leaves to cherish his memory his devoted loving mother, Z’Quichia Merriman Paige; loving father, Darin Paige, Jr.; three incredible brothers, Jadan Paige-Merriman, Jaren Merriman-Paige, and Jazen Merriman-Paige, all of Lynchburg, Virginia; two half-siblings, Jayme Phelps and Denver Paige; loving maternal grandparents, Garnett and Annie Merriman of Lynchburg, Virginia; loving paternal grandparents, Darin Paige, Sr. of Hurt, VA and Lisa Hamlette, and step-grandfather, Cedric Hamlette, of Forest, Virginia; a loving Godmother; Shantay Harris of Amherst, VA, a best friend; Jack Dawson, supportive loving aunts and uncles, along with a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by Jared.

Though Jared's time here was far too short, the love, laughter, memories, and moments he shared with those around him will remain. He will forever be a son, a brother, a grandson, a godson, a nephew, a friend, and an unforgettable part of the lives of those who were blessed to know and love him.

A memorial service for Jared will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
