Kahdijah Waller Agnew, age 49, was peacefully welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 15, 2025, in Charlottesville, VA. She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, mother, aunt, wife, grandmother, friend, and colleague whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Born on May 2, 1976, in Lynchburg, VA, Kahdijah was the beloved daughter of Angela Waller and Roy Patterson and was blessed with the love of her stepfather, Elvis Cheatham. She was the eldest sister to Khalilah Foskey (Keith) and Kaliphe DePriest (Carrie) — one heart, three souls, forever connected.

Kahdijah lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and kindness. Her radiant smile, beautiful voice, unwavering generosity, and pure heart left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Raised in Lynchburg, she shared an especially close bond with her grandmother, Mary “Nana” Hubbard Waller Fitch. From her mother and “Nana,” Kahdijah learned life’s greatest lessons — faith, love, and the importance of family.

Her relationship with God was deeply personal and ever-present. She spoke to Him as both Father and friend, and her faith illuminated her path, guiding her steps and inspiring those around her. A proud graduate of Heritage High School, Kahdijah went on to earn her associate’s degree in pharmacology. With a strong background in the medical field, she most recently served as a Prior Authorization Specialist for Magellan, where she was admired for her dedication, joyful spirit, and infectious laughter.

Affectionately known as “Dee,” Kahdijah found immense joy in cooking for family and friends. In 2016, she officially launched Ramani’s Catering, named after her first grandchild — a true reflection of her love for family and her creative passion. From childhood, Dee’s gift for music shined brightly. She began singing in the church choir, at school talent shows, and later recorded her first official song, “Mr. Harmonie,” which became a local favorite. Her voice was often described as a sound straight from heaven.

Kahdijah will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Russell Agnew. The two met in 2018 and sealed their union before God in 2021, creating a love grounded in faith and mutual respect. Kahdijah was a cherished by her mother-in-law, Claudine Agnew, whose love, wisdom, and warmth made her heart fuller. Her heartbeat was found in her three children — Quintarah, Jesse James IV (Aunna), and Niari — and her loving bonus son, Avery. Her greatest joy came from being “Ya-Ya” to her four beautiful grandchildren: Ramani, Novah, Jo’Saun, and Jesiah. She was also a devoted aunt whose love, encouragement, and laughter made Janiah, Aliyana, Peyton, Kahliel (KJ), Kaliphe DePriest Jr. (King), Kayvon, and Kobe feel uniquely cherished and deeply loved.

Kahdijah shared a special bond with her paternal aunts, Bonnie and Kathy Patterson, whose unwavering acceptance and genuine care meant the world to her. She was equally blessed by the love of her maternal aunts, uncles, and cousins, whose faith-filled guidance served as a constant reminder of God’s goodness and mercy throughout her life.

Though Dee may have departed from this earthly life, her love, strength, and light will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She is now reunited with her cherished ancestors, embraced in the eternal peace of her Heavenly Father.

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of Dee will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
