Michelle Morrison was born on June 17, 1975, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Mary Jane Morrison and the late Milton E. Morrison Sr. Michelle grew up in Lynchburg, where she attended E. C. Glass High School and later continued her education at Clayton State University, earning an associate degree. She later made her home in Atlanta, Georgia, a city that became an important part of her life.
Michelle dedicated ten years of her professional life to serving others as a patient access representative at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. She was also a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Douglasville, Georgia, and served as president of Divas on Deck, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Through her work, service, friendships, and community involvement, Michelle formed lasting relationships and left her mark in many different spaces.
Michelle was unforgettable. Family was at the center of her life, and she was especially proud of the daughter she raised, Morgan. Michelle loved deeply, gave generously, and carried a spirit that could fill a room. She was a fighter in every sense of the word, and she taught those around her to never give up. Whether she was cheering for the Atlanta Falcons, spending time with family and friends, or simply making everyone laugh, Michelle brought joy wherever she went. Her smile, her heart, and her larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten.
To know Michelle was to know she loved having a good time. She enjoyed traveling with her girls, outdoor concerts, go-go music, dancing, playing cards and board games, and spending time with family laughing and cracking jokes. Even relaxing with FarmVille on her phone could bring her joy. She loved Jamaica crab claws, red velvet cheesecake, sunflowers, and the color red. And when it came to football, there was no question where her loyalty stood. Michelle was a die-hard Atlanta Falcons fan and an annual member of the Dirty Birds Nest. Win, lose, or draw, she loved her Falcons.
Michelle also had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable. Her family will remember her humor, animated personality, honesty, strong opinions, and the sayings that were uniquely hers, including “Imma tell Ma,” and “You a ghost.” She could be dramatic, loud, spoiled, and the life of the party, all while being deeply loving, family-oriented, and fiercely loyal to the people she called her own. Those qualities made Michelle not only memorable but deeply loved.
Of all the roles Michelle held throughout her life, being a mother was among her greatest sources of pride. She was immensely proud of Morgan and of the woman she raised her to become. Michelle showed love through generosity, affection, presence, laughter, and the simple act of being there for the people she cared about. Her family describes her as having a huge heart, a beautiful smile, and the strength of a warrior.
On September 5, 2026, Michelle completed her earthly journey. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton E. Morrison Sr.; her nephew, Chris Morrison; and her niece, Madison Burts.
Michelle leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Morgan Morrison; her mother, Mary Jane Morrison; her siblings, Milton E. Morrison Jr. (Latorya), and her sister, Mildred Burts; her niece, Courtney Askins; her beloved dog, Mango, affectionately known as “Mang Mang”; and a host of extended family members, friends, loved ones, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Michelle’s life reminds us to laugh loudly, love our people, stand firm in who we are, and never give up. Though we will deeply miss her physical presence, the laughter she created, the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the memories she leaves behind will live on through everyone who loved her. Michelle was a fighter. She was a mother. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and force of personality. Most of all, she is loved. And she will remain forever in the hearts of those blessed to have shared in her life.
