Montez Denise Barnett

Montez “Sharon” transitioned on Sunday August 24th, 2025 in Lynchburg, Va. Born on October 23rd, 1963 in Albemarle County. She was the son of the late Albert Barnett and Gracie Marie. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Warren Barnett (Mary), Bobby Ray Barnett (Lucy), and Edward (Sandra). Affectionately known as “Sharon”, She graduated from Nelson County High School.

She is survived by her son, Justin Barnett; his children, Braylen, Bailey and one expected to arrive in February. Her sisters Marquita (Steve), Susie and her brothers Donald (Rosa), George, Russell (Betty), and a lot of relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration of life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg Chapel on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 3:00P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Ms. Barnett will be available for viewing during that hour.

A public repast will be at 1120 12th street Lynchburg, Va
