Nancy Elrod Davis

Nancy Elrod Davis passed away on September 9, 2024. She was born in Boone, NC, on October 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Philip I. Elrod and Hazel Lawrence Elrod.

Nancy was co-owner of Westover Jewelers and Watch Repair; she was also a longtime member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Jewell Seamster, John Elrod, and infant Philip Elrod.

She is survived by her husband, of 73 years, William H. Davis, Sr; children, Carolyn Gilley (Lee), William H. Davis, Jr. (Brenda), Virginia Davis (Bill); six grandchildren, Kari Putz (Jimi), Krista Gilley, Brian Davis (Sarah), Justin Davis, Brittney Harris (Christopher), Molly Davis; six great grandchildren, Aaron Putz (Danielle-deceased), Austin Putz, Bailey Harris, Blake Davis, Skylie Davis, Willow Harris; and devoted nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Centra Bedford Hospice House or the Lynchburg Humane Society.
