Paul “Mann” Alexander Jr. (also known as “Hamp”), 57, of Lynchburg, Virginia, departed this life on September 16, 2026. He was born on May 2, 1969, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Paul Alexander Sr. and the late Judith Alexander. Although his beloved mother is no longer here, her memory remains an enduring part of his family’s story, and the bond of family continues through the generations. Mann was also preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy Alexander and Keith Alexander.
He was a proud graduate of Heritage High School, Class of 1987. Mann was a loving, kindhearted, and unforgettable person whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and joy to everyone around him. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and could always find a way to make others laugh. His personality, sense of humor, and loving spirit made him someone people enjoyed being around, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
One of Mann’s greatest passions was cooking. He was a dedicated chef who found happiness in preparing meals and sharing his love of food with others. For Mann, cooking was more than just making a meal; it was a way of showing love, bringing people together, and creating lasting memories. Family cookouts were especially dear to him, as he loved being around his family, firing up the grill, preparing delicious food, and making sure everyone had something good to eat. Mann also had a compassionate heart and a genuine desire to help others. Before dedicating himself to his passion for cooking, he worked as a personal care assistant, where he supported numerous families and made a difference in the lives of those he served. Mann was also a devoted Denver Broncos fan who proudly supported his team. He loved people, whether talking football, enjoying a good meal, or spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish Mann’s memory include his son, Mitez (Tez) Alexander; his grandson, Kortez Alexander; his son’s mother, Tonya Herndon; his father, Paul Alexander Sr.; his three siblings, Angela Parrish, Pamela Tweedy, and Jeffrey Alexander; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family members, and friends. Each will carry their own special memories of Mann and the love, laughter, and moments they shared with him.
He will be remembered not only for the meals he prepared, but for the love he served with every plate, the laughter he brought into every room, and the special place he held in the hearts of his family. Though he may no longer sit at the family table, his spirit will forever have a place there.
Rest peacefully, Mann. Your laughter, your love, your cooking, and your unforgettable presence will forever be missed. You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts.
