Pete Francis McHugh

Peter Francis McHugh, Jr., 75, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Ardella Foster McHugh for over 59 years.

Pete was born on November 9, 1949, in New York, a son of the late Dave and Bessie Wilson. Peter was retired as a heavy equipment operator for KAM Backhoe Services and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Kirk McHugh, a sister Etta Wilson, nieces and nephews: Dale Wilson (Terri), Debby Wilson, Steve Foster, and Julie Foster, and a host of other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Wayne McHugh.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

A Graveside Service for Pete will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest, VA, with Pastor Ray officiating.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
