Robert “Bubble” Berkley Jones Jr., affectionately known as “Bubble,” was born on November 19, 1943, in Campbell County, Virginia, to the late Robert Berkley Jones Sr. and Magnolia Jones. He departed this life peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Robert lived a remarkable life defined by service, faith, family, and love for others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring with honors after a successful military career. Following his military service, Robert continued serving his community in many ways. He served as a Sheriff, worked as a tractor-trailer driver for the United States Postal Service, and later became a supervisor with the United States Postal Service, from which he ultimately retired. He faithfully served as Deacon at the New Free Spring Baptist Church.

Robert was a man of deep faith with a generous spirit and a heart big enough to embrace everyone he met. He had a way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. His life of service and his genuine care for others left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, Clyde Jones Sr., William Jones Sr., Leonia J. Franklin, and Earlean Peerman.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his son, Robert Jones, and devoted daughter-in-law, Karen, of Richmond, Kentucky; his son, Mark Jones, of Appomattox, Virginia; and daughter Chrishanda Prosise (Demario), of Dinwiddie, Virginia. He is also lovingly remembered by his former devoted wife and lifelong friend, Marcia (C.D.) Ferguson, of Appomattox, Virginia; sister-in-law, Arlean Jones, of Lynchburg, Virginia; devoted niece Lisa Calloway of Forest, Virginia; his adored grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Though Robert’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, Bubble. Your service is complete, your legacy remains, and you will be deeply missed.
