Sandra Jane Reichard Campbell, affectionately known as “Sandy,” 75, of Madison Heights, VA, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Born on March 21, 1950, she was the daughter of the late John David Reichard and the late Helen Hamilton Reichard, of Madison Heights. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Daniel Campbell of Amherst and her sister, Caroline Reichard Phelps of Madison Heights.
She leaves behind her three loving children: Matt Tyree and wife, Donna Marie, of Madison Heights, Brittany Baldwin and husband, Mike, of Amherst, and Nathan Campbell and wife, Briana, of Madison Heights; and eight (soon-to-be nine) precious grandchildren, Alec, Lora, Layna, Ryker, Ava, Liam, Asher, and Daniel; her lifetime friend and sister, Patricia Reichard Wood (Don) of Madison Heights; beautiful Mother-in-Law, Doris Hartless; seven wonderful in-laws; a beloved aunt; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; several special friends, and her ever-faithful Yorkie, Cooper.
Sandy cherished time with her family, whether it was family meals, enjoying a game of cards, laughing over old memories, or working puzzles together at the kitchen table.
Gathering all the people she loved together during the holidays brought Sandy great joy. Highlights included the annual New Year’s Day Enchilada Feast (a long-standing Reichard Family tradition), Easter egg hunts, Memorial Day cookouts, Independence Day pool parties, yearly trips to Williamsburg to celebrate Thanksgiving, and of course, her Christmas morning family breakfasts. Along with birthday celebrations and any other excuse to gather her family together throughout the year.
Many people remember Sandy’s incredible love for Jesus. During her years at Faith Bible Church, she sang in the choir, offered beautiful solos of praise and hope, and directed dozens of church plays during Christmas and Easter. Most recently, she attended River Church in Madison Heights. She touched everyone with her infectious smiles, positive attitude, and genuine interest in their lives and needs.
Apart from being a nurturing, fabulous, and doting mother, Sandy enjoyed many beloved years working alongside her father, and sister, Trisha, at Digitype before stepping into her role at Craddock Cunningham Architectural Partners where she served as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper for several years before retiring.
She was loving and kind, thoughtful and brimming with laughter. Her compassion and joy will continue in the hearts of those who loved her. And the world is truly a better place because of the life she lived.
