Vivian Irene Carthorne, affectionately known as Wendy, peacefully passed away at the age of 59. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of Frances Bradley and Alvin Lee Bradley. Vivian was proud of her brother Granvel "Al" Carthorne.
Vivian was a talented cosmetologist who earned her license while in Lynchburg, sharing her gift of beauty and confidence with many. She found joy in spending quality time with her family whom she loved dearly.
A passionate hobbyist, Vivian enjoyed doing hair and makeup, bringing joy and beauty to those around her. Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone she met.
Vivian leaves her brother Granvel “Al” (Renee), children Alvina (Charles), Jolon (Ashley), Taunisha Carthorne, one nephew Travis Ellis, grandchildren, great-grandchildren a host of other family and friend to morn her passing.
As we remember Vivian, let us hold onto her words and spirit:

A service will be at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2 pm with a visitation one hour prior.
