William (Bill) Hinton Davis, Sr., passed away on May 27, 2026. He was born in Lynchburg, VA, on November 16, 1933, the son of the late B.C. Davis and Ruth Carwile Davis.

Bill was founder and co-owner of Westover Jewelers and Watch Repair; he was also a longtime member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Nancy Elrod Davis, and two sisters, Ruth Honican and Bernice Finch.

He is survived by his children, Carolyn Gilley (Lee), William H. Davis, Jr. (Brenda), and Virginia Davis (Bill); six grandchildren, Kari Putz (Jimi), Krista Gilley, Brian Davis (Sarah), Justin Davis, Brittney Harris (Christopher), and Molly Davis; six great grandchildren, Aaron Putz, Austin Putz, Bailey Harris, Blake Davis, Skylie Davis, Willow Harris; and several devoted nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
